Today

I help leaders including – corporate executives, successful business owners, property investors, and professionals with highly appreciated assets, concentrated stock positions, and tax concerns – navigate a smooth transition toward a fulfilling retirement. My expertise lies in planning and coordinating intelligent exit strategies and forward-looking retirement and legacy plans, ensuring your financial security and peace of mind throughout this crucial life chapter.

Crafting Financial Futures Since 1987

With over 36 years of tax planning, financial planning, and investment management experience, I have helped countless families navigate the ever-changing financial environment.

My journey began in 1987, just six weeks before the Black Monday market crash – a baptism by fire that solidified my commitment to helping clients achieve financial security through any storm.

Driven to putting clients' needs first, I became one of the first fee-based fiduciary advisors in the state, offering unbiased financial guidance in 1988.

But financial planning isn't just about numbers; it's about empowering folks to make informed decisions. That's why I became a Certified Financial Education Instructor in 1995, sharing my knowledge with some of Colorado's largest organizations and companies.

My passion for financial literacy extends beyond the classroom. You might find me quoted in several publications including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, U.S News and World Report, Market Watch, and Business Insider, offering insights to a wider audience.

But finance isn't my only passion. In a testament to my belief in life balance, I'm a proud graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. While I may not be whipping up financial plans in the kitchen, my culinary skills come in handy when fostering strong client relationships (and the occasional client appreciation event!).

My greatest professional achievement, however, is founding Bloom Financial. It's more than a company; it's a place where we help our clients' financial aspirations and dreams, blossom and thrive.

Where it All Began

While born and raised in Los Angeles, it was a field trip to the New York Stock Exchange at age 7 that sparked my passion for finance. It wasn't just the bustling throngs of Wall Street that captivated me, but the elegant flavors I experienced while dining at the famed Russian Tea Room. Escargot, Filet of Sole, and Chocolate Soufflés with Vanilla Crème Anglaise—it was a revelation! That night, I knew my destiny wasn't only finance, but the culinary world. Fast forward to 12, and I was ready to ditch my newspaper route and take my first professional steps into restaurants, landing a job with my family's Orange Julius franchise.

The Personal Bio

My educational path at L.A. Valley College combined Business Management with Psychology, reflecting my diverse interests. Outside of class, I discovered a love for fostering growth in others. By day, I helped people learn how to conquer the slopes as a ski instructor on the Magic Moving Endless Ski Slope at Phil Gerard's Ski World in Encino, California. By night, I traded skiing for spices, honing my culinary skills at the famous Great American Food & Beverage Co. and Poppy's Star Restaurant. Through both experiences, I realized a deep satisfaction in guiding others – whether it's mastering skis, perfecting a recipe, or navigating finance – the joy of helping people learn and have "lightbulb" moments is what truly motivates me.  That's me on the left, Chef Saucier at La Chaumiere, Century Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles, California.

The Family

I reside in the Denver/Boulder Area with my wife Amy, and our wonderful kids Aleah, and Jacob.  Family trip to La Jolla, California

Giving Back Throughout My Life

My passion for service has been a constant thread in my life. In the aftermath of 9/11, I volunteered for three years with the Red Cross as a Media Relations Specialist. Leveraging my communication skills, I played a role in sharing critical information during emergencies.

Following that, I spent six years sharing my enthusiasm for the outdoors as an Ambassador, Ski Guide, and Host at Winter Park and Copper Mountain resorts. This experience allowed me to combine my love for the mountains with creating memorable experiences for others.

Since 2007, I've volunteered my time with a Boulder faith-based organization, supporting families who have experienced loss. This allows me to provide comfort and guidance during a difficult time in their lives.
